Casleton for Cudahy

Katy Casleton is a proven, hands-on leader who has consistently shown up for Cudahy’s students, families, and schools. She brings experience, accountability, and a deep commitment to transparency and collaboration.

Why Casleton?

1. She has a track record of real results.
Katy hasn’t just talked about improving schools, she’s done it.

She helped revive the Lincoln PTO, wrote over a dozen grants that brought free STEM opportunities to Cudahy 4K–6th grade students, and served on district committees that directly impact curriculum and student learning.

2. She understands what students and teachers need. As an educator and parent of two Lincoln students, Katy sees daily what helps children learn and what barriers get in the way. She brings both classroom experience and family perspective, which means her decisions are grounded in what actually works for kids.

3. She shows up and does the work.
Katy attends board meetings regularly, participates in advisory groups, and communicates consistently with families and staff. She doesn’t wait to be invited into conversations, she’s already in the room.

4. She believes in transparency and accountability. Katy advocates for clearer communication from the district, more accessible information for families, and decision-making that reflects community input. She wants families to know what’s happening without needing to attend every meeting.

5. She is committed to strong academics and safe, supportive schools. Her work on math curriculum, safety response teams, and STEM initiatives demonstrates a commitment to:

  • High-quality instruction
  • Student engagement
  • Safe and welcoming learning environments
  • Preparing kids for a changing world

6. She builds positive partnerships.
Katy collaborates with teachers, administrators, families, and community partners. Her approach is respectful, solutions-focused, and grounded in teamwork, not conflict.

7. She’s invested in Cudahy’s future.
As a long-time educator and parent, Katy cares deeply about creating a school system where all children and the whole community can thrive. Her work has always been driven by a long-term vision, not short-term politics.
